Messy painting

Well today me and Nathan have been getting messy with the paints he had so much fun exploring all the diffrent colours and the texture if the wet paint.
How about that 'it wasn't me mummy' look on his face!! Priceless
We all had lots of fun it's so easy to be worried to keep your little one clean and tidy but sometimes it's good to let them go crazy and get messy Nathan loved it.

Wedding memories

This scrapbook page holds a very special place in my heart it is a beautiful picture of my husband Chris' grandparents on their wedding day 19th Febuary 1955 as you know we also share the 19th of April 2005 anniversary of when we started being a couple and we are honnored that we share the same wedding day too 19th Febuary 2013.

So of course this layout had to have a special place in our wedding album which I'm still working on..... I have so many photographs which I still want to include in this album I'm starting to think it may have been a little wiser doing a mixed project life with eliments of 12x12!

This layout has some hidden journaling on the blue tag as well as an aceitate shaker jar which was stamped with staze on and I hand stiches the edge.

We had robins egg blue for our wedding day but as this photo contained the pink carnations I really wanted to add pink elements  into our wedding album as well.

I just love this page so much, I hope that me and Chris will be happy for our lifetime just like his grandparents xxxx

Three foot festival

So on Wednesday me and Nathan went to the three foot festival in hylands park chelmsford for a mini festival just for little people and although Nathan is only 5 months old he still had a great time :-)  Nathan enjoyed having a taster class if Jo jingles and Talking tots as well as playing in the giant sand pit. I'm defiantly going to take him next year when he will be walking and enjoy much more of what was on offer. We went with one of Nathan's older friends (2 1/2 years old) who enjoyed the interactive we're going on a bear hunt in the woods, playing foot ball, soft play area, racing a push along bike and much more!!  I can't wait to go again next year so greatful I manged to get a ticket from my friend who unfortunately couldn't make it.
Watching the Jo jingles teacher at the start of the class, what a cheeky smile

Safe Harbour

So here's another recent one of Nathan playing with his boats in his paddling pool  he's almost getting there with sitting up on his own now, clever boy.

For this layout I flicked pink and green paint across the white cardsrock background to bring out the colours of the boats and ducks in the paddling pool and tie in with the cut out boats from patterned paper. I used a strip of light blue velum which I placed in my swirls embossing folder to create the seaside waves look and raised the boats of damp pads to create demention the the layout.

Please leave me a message and let me know what you think.

It's a hat thing

I don't know why there are so many pictures of me wearing diffrent hats as a child! This layout is one of my many creative projects I want to record my family history and my own childhood to one day share with Nathan.

For this layout I used diffrent strips of craft cardsrock which I then embossed using a selection of embossing folders to create a miss-mash of textures to reflect the 80's fashions of my childhood. What I  rembember is almost everything didn't match and most things had a nice brown pattern to it!!!

I hope everyone has had a nice weekend,  I attended my local scrapbooking crop yesterday's and have had a nice relaxing family day today.

A simply wonderful ordinary day

I can't believe these pictures were taken nearly a year ago at the Fling Festival held in Chelmsford Central Park, me and the girls took full advantage of the free photobooth and dressing up bits on offer!

I inked round the edge of my card stock with white and then a light pink to create a dusty chalk board look then flicked pink paint across the background, I used papers from echo park here and now rage and eliments from the coordinating sticker sheet raised on foam pads I just loved the border strip saying 'a simply wonderful ordinary day' it captures my feelings of enjoyment to spend the day haveing fun with friends.

So today me and Nathan are off to the three foot festival which is held just before the fling festival and designed especially for little ones, living the dream and making memories to last a life time.

Have a great day everyone Katie x

Splash

I thought I would share with you one of my more recent layouts of Nathan enjoying the glorious weather we have been having and playing in his paddling pool and needless to say the title had to be splash!!!

I used paint stain dabblers to make to splat effect and flicked white paint to add a water mark look. I used a cricket to cut out the title and used glossy accents to create a wet look on the title, I love this sequin string which I lauered up and attached using blue staples.

Let me know what you think

Expecting you

really wanted to document my baby bump and how I felt when I found out I was expecting. The journaling on this layout says "your dad and me were so excited when we found out we were having you. My tummy got really big when you were growing and you liked to kick your feet" I want Nathan to be able to look at his scrapbook in years to come and know how much he was wanted.

I used a old Scrapagogo stamp from a past kit to create the clod emblishment with pins...

To emblish this page I used maya road chipboard clothes which I painted ble and used mini pegs to create a washing line with yellow twine as I sent a lot of time washing clothes ready for Nathan's arrival.

Welcome Nathan

I've been really busy with Nathan's album and I'm really enjoying project life the mix of using 12x12 with mixed sized pockets. It's a purfect way to document a new baby when you may not nessicarily have the time to 12x12 layout of every single photograph taken capturing the special moments!

I'm planning to share lots of layouts from the album in the next coming weeks.

For this layout which features at the beginning of the album as a introduction. I used Bella boulevard 'we're expecting' baby boy paper with a selection of yellow and blue papers I had in my stash I do believe the heart one is dear Lizzie range, I also incorporated a journaling card from the simple stories snap baby boy range. Emblished with a wooden baby grow and buttons. The alphas are AC chipboard Thickers in Roster grey.

I really love this picture of Nathan he was 7days old and we had a photoshoot at my house he looks so peaceful.

Enjoy Katie xxxx

Your arrival

Well all I can say is I had really difficult  laybour with Nathan, I was induced three days early as I was suffering from all the signs of pre-eclampsia. My labour was very quick and I got to 8cm all on my own with gas and air for the last 10cm however things went down hill very quickly reasulting in a emergency forceps delivery in theater. So shocked was a understatement my body just went into overdrive.

However when it came to scrapbooking about Nathan's arrival I took a child friendly approach and my jouranaling on this layout really helped me to come to terms with how I felt about my labour. It's still a very touchy subject for me but I really wanted Nathan to have this documented in his album alongside the first picture I took of him.

I used a grey cardsrock and used snap simple stories baby boy card for my journaling which says  "on the day you arrived, daddy arrived at the hospital at 7am mummy was in lots of pain very quickly and had to have some help to deliver you. So the doctors took mummy to theater where she had a special needle in her back and the doctors helped deliver you. You were born at 9.56am, weighing 8lb 3oz."

I cut out the sentiment welcome little one from a diffrent journaling card and added hearts, foil Thickers saying Nathan and some glittery doddlebug boarders. Let me know what you think....

Your New Room

I wanted to document Nathan's nursery as so much time is spent when your pregnant in "feathering the nest" and preparing for the arrival of your little one sometimes is easy to forget to record these special memories.

We decorated the room in a nurtural way we chose Timbucktales range by mummas and puppas which featured a owl and the pussy cat emblished cover for the cot with multicoloured stars. It's such a beautiful set perfect for girl or boy as we didn't know what sex we were having.

For this layout I used a project life page protector and used some foil chipboard Thickers to create a 4x6 title card as well as using my punches to make a little emblishment on a 2x3 pocket. I just love he colours used in Nathan's room they bend so well with the papers and the 'twinkle twinkle little star you don't know how loved you are" card by simple stories baby boy lends itself perfectly with the mix of photos.

The brightest star in the sky

So I've been a little absent lately due to the birth of my little boy Nathan born 11th January 2014 at 9.56am weighing 8lb 3oz. But in this time I've been busy scrapbooking his first moments I've decided to do a project life style album as I thought it would be more manageable and it's been perfect. Just a little peak at the stash I've braught for this project :-)

So today I'm going to share a A4 sized layout I completed at my local scrapbook crop recently. I used the new pebbles special delivery boy papers. I also used my star embossing folder to add texture to the page.
I also used a big shot star die to cut out starts raised on foam pads and emblished with a sweet dreams sentiment and star pin.

I'll Never forget how Perfect you are

This layout was created using inspiration from a layout I saw on Pintrest, I used the  Crete paper Maggie Holmes dreamy background paper. Also a selection of odd patterned paper I had in my stash including a jar cut from some Dear Lizzie paper embellished with glitter twine buttons and pins. I love this photograph taken of my husband Chris kissing our baby he started to feel our baby kicking for the first time on our honeymoon and it was a beautiful moment captured by our honeymoon photographer on the beach :-)

Family <3

For this layout I created a tropical beach hut look using the a straw effect back ground paper with splats of blue and pink paint and hidden journaling behind the 'so happy together' postcard. I used Heidi Swapp black and white buzz words on the photo to create the tilte. I just love the overall effect of the layout it really captures to the tropical feel of our holiday and you can clearly see my baby bump :-)

Happy Moments

This layout was also using our honeymoon photo of us walking along the beach. I used a grey wood effect background paper from the My Minds Eye Cut&paste collection and elements from Echo Park Here&Now to embellish the layout also some Amy Tan wood veneer emblishments.

Life is perfect....

created this layout a few months back while I was at a weekend crop in Swindon, using a photo from our honeymoon photoshoot.

I used a pencil with a rubber end to dip into white paint creating white dots onto the back background. I chose to use bright colours to bring character to the back and while photograph. I used papers and element stickers from the Echo Park Here and Now collection by Loui Whitlock including the a border sentiment for the layout title.
